Is your old boiler sending your money up the flue?

Older boilers can waste up to 30p of every £1 you spend on gas. A modern A-rated condensing boiler turns around 92p of every £1 into heat for your home. See what that could mean for you.

Energy Saving Trust: swapping an old G-rated boiler for an A-rated one, with new controls, could save a semi-detached home around £310–£320 a year.

Estimate only, comparing your current boiler with a new A-rated condensing boiler (92% efficient) using Ofgem typical gas use. Your actual saving depends on your home, insulation, habits and energy prices.

  • Heat recovered, not wasted

Condensing boilers capture heat from the exhaust gases that old boilers simply blow outside.

  • Turns down, not just off

Modern burners dial their output up and down to match demand, instead of blasting on and off.

  • Smarter controls

A smart thermostat and TRVs only heat the rooms you use, when you use them.

Specification

Specified for your home. Not just swapped like-for-like.

The right boiler depends on how your home actually uses heat and hot water — so we work that out before we quote.

  • Hot water demand

Bathrooms, showers and how often they run at once.

  • Property size

Heat loss and the output the home needs.

  • Existing system

Combi, system or heat-only — and its condition.

  • Boiler location

Flue route, access and whether it should move.

  • Controls

    Programmer, smart or weather-compensating.

  • Future requirements

An extra bathroom or extension planned later.

Why Precision

The difference isn’t the boiler. It’s the installation.

  • Correct specification

Sized to your hot water demand and property, then confirmed in a clear written quote before we start.

  • Professional installation

Level, tidy, properly supported pipework — the kind of work an engineer is happy to photograph.

  • Clean, respectful working

  • Proper commissioning

Gas rate and combustion checked and recorded, controls set, system balanced — where reliability is won or lost.

  • Warranty & aftercare

Manufacturer warranty registered, servicing reminders, and a number that reaches us.

Why a boiler quote has to be tailored

No two installations are identical. These are the things that move the number.

  • 01Boiler type & output — combi, system or heat-only, sized to your home
  • 02Property & hot water demand — size, bathrooms, how much runs at once
  • 03Boiler position — access, flue route, and whether it moves
  • 04Controls — programmer through to smart, zoned or weather-compensating
  • 05System condition — flushing, filtration and any pipework upgrades
  • 06Relocation & system changes — moving the boiler, converting the system, adding a cylinder

We price for the system to be specified, installed and commissioned properly, with a clear written quotation before work begins. If something genuinely can’t be seen until work starts, we agree it with you first — nothing is added quietly.

Wow, wow, wow! Thank you so much to Josh and the team for completely transforming my mum’s bathrooms and bringing her vision to life. From sorting out the horrendous plumbing and completely ripping out the old bathrooms and giving them a total makeover, the quality of work has been outstanding. The attention to detail, workmanship and professionalism have been second to none, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We are absolutely over the moon with the end result!! They’ve completely transformed the space into something beautiful. We couldn’t be happier and would recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled and hardworking team.

Josh has been working for me for some years now, he fitted me a new en-suite, a new boiler, an outside tap, a kitchen hot tap and annually services my boiler. I wouldn’t use anyone else. He is respectful of my home and always tidies up and is in my opinion trustworthy. So if your looking for a good tradesman look no further.

Common questions

Boiler replacement, answered

A straightforward like-for-like combi replacement is usually completed in a day. A system change, or converting an open-vented system to a modern sealed system, typically takes one to two days.

We fit established, widely-supported boiler brands, and confirm the right brand and model for your home at survey — based on hot water demand, property and budget.

Every installation comes with the manufacturer’s warranty, registered on your behalf, plus our own workmanship guarantee.

For an accurate fixed price, yes. The survey lets us see the flue, pipework, controls and system condition so your quote covers the whole job. If anything genuinely can’t be seen until work starts, we tell you upfront and agree it with you before it goes ahead — it’s never added quietly later. If a visit isn’t practical straight away, clear photos let us give you a close estimate first.

In most cases, yes. Moving a boiler adds pipework, flue and making-good work, which we assess and price at the survey stage so there are no surprises.

A thorough system flush before fitting is carried out as standard, with a magnetic filter and inhibitor added. A full power flush is available as an add-on where the system condition calls for it — we’ll tell you honestly if it does.

Yes. Removal and responsible disposal of your existing boiler is included as standard in every replacement.

Yes. We service the boilers we install to keep the manufacturer warranty valid, and send annual reminders so a service is never missed.
